We’ve always got some shit to do It’s not easy to parse what we’re going through We’re in a rush but it’s time to discuss What the food you eat’s gonna do to you Life seemed much simpler back when Our diet was defined by grains We’re waking up The sun is here The lie is become plain It doesn’t matter if you’re big tall short or tiny Sugar is the devil There’s nothing in the past that should not be left behind Sugar is the devil Don’t deny yourself a snack or treat There are just some things you should never eat There’s no end to things we’ll never know There’s grace in the art of letting go We all makes mistakes and run in place If we look we’ll find more room to grow We’d longed to trust in words from above We know now They are not enough They’re not even from above CHORUS You’re feeling sickly That’s not how it has to be Don’t trust the industry Know your enemy

Do I wanna be the subject of one more bitter fuck you love song Or would I rather save face Keep it locked in a jar by the door and ponder Tell me how you feel is a phrase That rarely ever passes my lips I mumble “how are you?” While I’m sweating like a cat on my fingertips And I wonder, boy, I really wonder Why I feel this way And I wonder, still, I really wonder Why I feel this way Have another drink But it stinks so I sit Edging further away Could it be that I’ll forestall my ruin By not opening my mouth? And I wonder, boy, I really wonder Why I feel this way And I wonder, still, I really wonder Why I feel this way I digress and obsess And it’s all probably born in my head I try to find all the hints and the traps In the things that were said If you ask me how I feel I’ll blush, look down, make excuses, turn away And I wonder, boy, I really wonder Why I feel this way And I wonder, still, I really wonder Why I feel this way Hey! Yeah! I’m feeling syndicated

about

We promised ourselves we would cut another single after the "success" of The Emperor's New Clothes and -- just over a year later -- Betty Goo reconvened at Zippah in Brighton, MA to crank out these two tracks. "Sugar is the Devil" is a brand-new song, largely written in a hotel room near LaGuardia airport, while "Small Wonder Syndicated" comes from the final year of Betty Goo's original existence, doomed to never appear on the never-finished 3rd LP. Each song features an expletive in the opening line! Totally not planned but there ya go.

about

Aaron Tap Los Angeles, California

Aaron Tap is terrible at branding. So he releases shit from both his current band Frank Shirts and, lately, the resurrected Boston trio Betty Goo, and maybe someday even a solo record. There are themes, yeah, but mostly it's whatever spirit moves the music that decides what name it goes by.

Aaron also plays and sings with Matt Nathanson, the Paula Kelley Orchestra, and Populuxe.
